pretty damn good!

well.... i am incredibly skeptical about the post jerry dead stuff BUT -- what i have recently heard from PHIL & FRIENDS has been quite impressive -- they have tweaked the arrangements just enough to make it fresh and interesting.

phil's MO on the vocals seems to be to kind of SLUR the words together and stay in a limited but comfortable range -- and he's pulling it off well.... he has so much character, and it comes through in a not unpleasant way.... as far as the JAMMING goes -- it is entertaining and superior to the tripe that was going down in the last 3 or 4 years of the GD -- PHIL Is upfront in the mix, of course, there is no super crappy keyboard ruining everything and the guitarists, while not taking me on any journey, are, despite being really HEAVY HANDED, -- well, they're not bad....

i've been resisting it big time, but i would not be embarassed to go see this band play -- they seem to put on an OUTSTANDING SHOW!
